Bas works on critical distribution panels. He has been employed at Elektro Internationaal since 2024.
What is your background / what education have you completed?
I completed the Smart Technology Technician Engineering program. This is a technical course where you get to know technology in various forms in many different ways. After this course, the intention is to choose your own path and learn more about it. I did have an electrical engineering subject, but I only really started learning it when I did an internship at Elektro Internationaal. I also worked in the flex team for a while during my studies. And I also did my graduation internship here. During that period, I gained a lot of practical experience.
What do you do at EI and how do you like it?
I started building distribution panels in the Prisma P system of Schneider Electric during my internship. I have now been working for over a year as a technician on the Okken systems. These are the large distributors for critical energy users such as data centers. I could work on other types of distributors, but at the moment I am very satisfied in the Okken team.
I have also been on the road with the Service Team for a job in Switzerland. I found that to be an amazing experience.
What do you think of the working hours and the atmosphere?
The working hours are great because you can fill them in yourself in the workshop between 6:30 – 18:00. As long as you complete all your hours. I get along well with my colleagues and I can always go to them with questions. We have the radio on during work and during breaks we eat together. The atmosphere is just great.
How do you see the future within EI?
I am curious about how it will be to work together at a new production location. I hope that I can stay for a long time. And that I can still regularly go on jobs with the Service team (abroad). That makes the work very varied!
