Read Jibbe's experience

Jibbe inspects the distribution panels before they go to the customer. He has been working at Elektro Internationaal since 2025.

What is your background / what education have you completed?

At the age of 17, I started the Mechatronics program in Nieuwegein. I chose this because I wanted to get to know the world of technology. In the first year, I interned at Terberg IJsselstein. This went so well from both sides that I was allowed to return to Terberg for my next internship in the second year. They offered me a job, and I started the Panel Building program. After that, I stayed with this company for another 10 years.

When I was looking for something new, I came to EI through a former colleague. He told me about the good working atmosphere and the hardworking team. Out of curiosity, I went to take a look, and I was immediately enthusiastic.

What do you do at EI and how do you like it?

My position is tester. Since I haven't been working here for very long, I am currently still being guided by the other testers. Testing means that the panels made in the workshop are inspected and must meet certain standards. The testing department is therefore the last department the panels pass through before being sent to the customer. I am still learning and am enthusiastic about the work. I find performing the high voltage test the most fun to do because you have to work precisely, and it's also quite a bit exciting.

What do you think of the working hours and the atmosphere?

EI considers the employees. The working hours are flexible. You can arrange your hours yourself, allowing you to work longer one day to go home earlier another day. This way, I can also make good use of my free time. I get along well with my colleagues. They show me everything and give me the space to learn. There is encouragement to make decisions independently. The management shows that they support me, and there is mutual trust. I find that very pleasant.

How do you see the future within EI?

At the moment, I have only been employed at EI for a few months, and I want to first master the position well and get to know the company better. After that, we'll see what happens next.
